WORSHIP

Style

The worship style is traditional, but with some modern elements. We sing hymns, have times of prayer and responsive readings. We also have guided meditations and modern music selections.

Often we will feature opportunities for attendees to make art and use those contributions is larger art projects. 

Each week we focus on one particular scripture to guide our time. Most of these choices are guided by the Revised Common Lectionary.

Vibe

Welcome is the driving motivation of the vibe at Community Church. Right when you come through the door, we hope you feel as welcome as people who have been here for years. We hand out a bulletin that guides everyone through the service. If you have any questions feel free to ask. We are happy to help. 

Dress

Come as you are. There are no judgments here. Some like to wear a suit and tie. Others come in jeans and T-shirt. However you feel most comfortable is the best choice. 

The pastor usually dresses in a robe and stole. 

Children

All children (grumpy, crying, giggling or talkative) are beloved at Community Church. After the Children's Message each Sunday (except during the summer), children ages 5-12 are invited to the Sunday School room for a lesson and activity. But, if they want to stay in the sanctuary with their parents, we also have activities they can bring with them into the pews.

Children are also welcome to take the bread and cup during Communion Sundays.
